My writing process isn’t set in stone. But I have noticed that the more detailed of an outline I create before I start writing, the easier and faster the process is. Even with a detailed outline, my characters do have a mind of their own, and the plot changes more often than not, but the outline is crucial…especially for a mystery. So, today I’m plotting Ship of Ghouls. I already know the basis of it, but I’ve run into a problem because I can’t seem to decide if Spencer and Gladie’s honeymoon cruise ship should be the same one that his brother Peter will be on in the first book of the Partners in Crime series (to come! Stay tuned!) Is it okay for Peter to be on the same boat at a later time with the same characters? Or should it be a different ship, and I have two honeymoon cruise ship murder mysteries? Hmmm… What do you think?
